There are more disadvantages to taking lessons once a month then there are advantages.

It takes A LOT of muscle to be able to hold yourself in a saddle and working once a month isn’t going to keep your muscle and will take you longer to move up since you would be moving at a slower pace.

I would suggest doing a lesson every week since then you would be able to build muscle and learn more :)

If you planning on riding for 1.5 hours straight once a month. Nothing. I would say if you did half and hour a week you’d make much more progress.

Advantages of riding including boosting self esteem, leg muscle strengthening, improved balance and a new social activity. Posture somewhat improves, but generally only when mounted. It can also be a stress reliever for many people

Disadvantages is that Horse riding is an extremely dangerous sport. Only people who can not project the consequences of their actions don’t wear a helmet. Everyone will fall. Always wear a helmet. 90% of all serious head injuries could’ve been avoided by use of helmet. Besides the physical risk you will be very sore for a day or two after each lesson in the beginning. Depending on cost, you may or may not be able to afford it. You can reduce your risk of injury by always wearing a helmet and always being instructed by a ARIA certified trainer.

You can always try it. If it doesn’t work out you can always stop.

Of course there’s advantages and disadvantages to horseback riding. There’s pros and cons to everything.

A horse helps you become responsible. They teach you to have blance, and to be clam. They’re amazing animals. To me horses let you become a better person.

If you’re not paired with the ‘right’ horse, the horse may not listen and you may get frustrated. But with help, you’ll get better. There’s always a potential of falling off or getting hurt. But those are the chances you take.

Once a month? Oh gosh, I could never do that. I’d be going every week at least! :D

advantages: building confidence, learning to be a leader, poise, balance, selflessness (looking out for the horses well being as your own) responsibility, dicsipline, and even becoming more in shape and more fit, building more muscles so it’s even physical rewarding as well as mentally!

plus its so much fun and stress releiving!!

the only disadvantage i know of is its time consuning money consuming and can be extremely dangerous if you dont know what your doing

The advantages of horse riding? well, too many to count! If you have a passion for horses, you will find that your lesson will be one of the best days of the month. I take lessons once a week, and I wish they could be once a day!
Through horses you will learn companionship, responsibility, and kindness. You will meet crazy new people and learn many skills.
The disadvantages??? ummm… lessons can be pricey and if you fall off, it probably will hurt. but don’t let that stop you.

    do it!!! enjoy horses!!!

Horse riding is great so long as you don’t have to take care of the horse. If it’s lessons, the only problem would be potentially falling off and getting trampled. If you do have to take care of the horse, though, don’t bother. They’re ignorant as hell and overall obnoxious to do anything with.

Advantages – It is the most fun you will ever have.

Disadvantages – You could be injured. Possibly even die.

    :)

Well, the advantages are learning to be responsible, and, depending on what discipline you are choosing, teach you balance, coordination, et cetera.

The only disadvantages I can think of are getting hurt, and smelling, but who doesn’t love the smell of horses?
