The whole waiting a year thing is ridiculous. Everyone starts somewhere. There is no law or rule that says you have to wait, you just might need to get some lessons or have someone around you who can help you better you riding skills if you run into trouble. I grew up with a bunch of friends most of which had horses and we didn't know how to ride, just learned as we went. Go for It. Jenny You don’t have to wait, You could buy one now.
