24Eclipse, have you tried having his back and saddle checked? He might be bucking because he is uncomfortable. What is he like in his other gaits?

You Should Try A Martingale For The Head Tossing
Try Circling Your Horse If He Gets A Lil Fast Or Pulling And Giving With The Reins..
Sit Deep And Up Straight, If You Lean Forward You’ll Encourage Him To Go Faster..
Also If You Ride With A Group He Colud Just Be Trying To Get To The Back Of The Ride Asap.. Try Going With Someone In Front Slowly.. Hope This Works, Worked For Me:)

have him start from the walk like normal/

you shouldnt be looking at your horses head. look up. my horse is also a fast canter. lunging works for some horses, have you tried that? squeeze slightly and tell him easy or do *small* half halts. give it time!

    @HorseLoverBexHere

Maybe you’re pulling at the horse’s mouth when asking to canter by lifting your hands?

she is probaly getting/seeing something that is spooking her in that particular spot.
try holding short reigns and a whip. walk her through the course 1st(hold her)
    hope my advice will work!
    good luck!
    p.s- hold short reigns!

@horsesrmylife78 get on a horse that’s kinda slow… and just possibly use a lunge line… if not, just ask for a canter, sit down, and BREATH! breathing helps release your stress, and it keeps you less tense, I wish I could better explain… sorry.

@alicorenee idk why she’s doing it, but use your legs to steer her out, and if she continues, DONT let her win! neverrr… push her till you get your way… possibly get some english spurs to help…

  17. xCodyxKellyxon 24 Mar 2010 at

@HorseLoverBexHere I highly doubt it’s anyone’s fault… it may have been a gap in some training? im not sure… but I don’t think its anyone’s fault. Try holding shorter reins… NO crop or spurs… and just relax..

@24Eclipse68 what “MyLogInName” said, or just try it in a different direction, a mare I ride will buck me off canter, tracking left, but not right.

  19. xCodyxKellyxon 24 Mar 2010 at

I had to learn to canter off of a lunge(sp?) line on my own… :(
