Wow this is completely stupid. The girl riding the horse isn’t even sitting on it right. Her heel is down way too far and she has her stirrups raised way too much. And it sounds like this woman got all of her riding info from a really cheap how to book…

…. I was always taught to give and release bit pressure. Not to hold it there and bump with my legs… my horse gets pissy if I hold his head… a horse learns from giving and releasing pressure…. I have to agree that this is not very professional.

Her toes are too high. your legs should be kinda dangling, otherwise, it will stress out the horse.

Apparently you don’t know very much, just go to a riding stable and take lessons

the only thing I would do differantly is immediatly release the reins. I notice the rider is constantly pulling on the reins.
Other then that I think this is good advice! Anyone who doesnt try to take in some of these tips is a no-it-all who probably cant ride for shit.

I thought she handled that horse quite well. Can any of you back a horse up like that and then forward again without any help from the reins, and with all the instruction coming from the legs and feet? ……….. Ya! thats what I thought…. so go back to watching hee-haw! and leave your immature comments there.

Is there something wrong with that Girth? Or is it just me?

  19. Ponyluvs25on 06 Dec 2009 at

Your right, It’s way too loose! I’m surprised she didn’t fall off! Bt, that horse looks like one that gallops when told to canter!

  20. IWantLandingSnowon 09 Dec 2009 at

Haha, Funny if she did fall off! Is her Girth too forward of is that just typical western?

  21. RealityIsVerticalon 05 Jan 2010 at

well i assume you’re english.. since your name is DressageJumper101.. but in western, the posture is much more relaxed than english, so it’s really not that bad.. haha but i know how you feel. i went from a hunter barn to a barn where they mostly do western. oh boy it was like hard to not sit up straight all the time. hahahaha so yeah. it’s just different(:

  22. RealityIsVerticalon 05 Jan 2010 at

are you sure you’re looking at the girth? cause one some western saddles, there’s a piece of leather behind the girth that’s supposed to be loose like that.. the bucking strap. idk if that’s what you were looking at, but yeah.. hahaha(:

  23. preston223on 11 Feb 2010 at

It is called a rear cinch and it is used on most all western saddles. It keeps the back of the saddle from coming up off the horse usually when you rope a cow.

These expertvillage videos are annoying it appears that they just take kids out of a ranod stable and ask them to do this for them.
